Aug 26, 2016 I have no internet right now, so I can't connect to steam. These past couple days I've been playing in offline mode. I just restarted my computer and got the usual 'Cannot connect to steam network' and I clicked start in offline mode as usual.
Okay. So. I am not the best with computers and I seem to have gotten myself into a pickle. Steam for whatever reason was having problems connecting to the internet so I said fuck it I'll put it in offline mode. Then I try to start Civilization 4 and it says it needs to update and it can't update in offline mode. There is no visible menu that would allow me to get back online. It seems like a problem with a very simple solution that I am just too dumb to find so if you wouldn't mind giantbomb community, do me a solid and help me out. Please.
I know this should maybe be in the gaming section but after all it is software and I bet there are a few more software geniuses here than in the gaming section :p
OK, so basically, I am trying to start steam in offline mod on my laptop. I am going to London on Sunday and don't know if the hotel will have internet in the room so I want to get this working before that :p
Justadice lyrics english. So I tried the obvious, I turned off the wifi on the laptop and tried to start steam, steam tells me it couldn't connect and gives me the option to try again or to start in offline mode, when I select start in offline mode a get a new window telling me it couldn't connect to the steam network.
So, one, why does it try to connect to the steam servers when starting in offline mode? Two how do you get it to work?
